The Honorable Congressman Chase? Former Player Running for Office
Friday, November 18th, 2011
Former starting pitcher, Cameron Chase, was known throughout his career as a leader on the field and in the clubhouse, but if things go his way he might soon be known as a leader in Congress as well.

The former star announced at a rally in his home city of Bloomington, Illinois that he is throwing his cap into the ring as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. His speech promised to "help lead this nation into a new era of progress and possibility," but didn't go into many policy specifics.

Former teammates, however, say this is no vanity project - he apparently would frequently talk politics in the locker room, and they say they're excited to see what their old teammate can do in the political arena.
Erie-Lancaster Trade: Laffita for Soliz
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011
After prolonged negotiations Erie agreed to ship 27-year-old 3B Erick Laffita and 24-year-old minor league LF Jon Gomez to Lancaster for 28-year-old 1B Brian Soliz. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups.

"It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen."
